As you read this Mark and I are headed to Spokane, Washington to attend our adoption training. This is a requirement of AWOP but we are looking forward to it. Not JUST because it’s like a mini-getaway for us, but because it’s specific to adopting Ethiopian kids. Jackpot!!! The training is put on by Kingdom Kids Ministries (affiliated with AWOP) – they also do other adoption training programs.
Yes, the training is an additional expense but really it will be invaluable. Especially as Mark does not enjoy reading as much as I do, so this is a great way for him to get some of the information I’ve been reading about – you know…bonding, attaching, grieving, blending issues, etc.
Even w/ the financial aspect of the trip, we’ve been blessed. A friend of Mark’s sister who is a flight attendant gave us passes so we are flying for free (thank you Amy!), we got our hotel on Priceline.com for $45/night and our rental car for…get this…$12/day (including taxes). Can’t beat that.
Taking the laptop and camera so I’ll be sure to share from our adventure.
