Yes, for those of you that are very observant the board has his name spelled differently. It really is Wendemagegn according to an Ethiopian friend, although I’ve seen it spelled different ways. “Wende” means “boy or brother”, “magegn” means “i have” so his name means “I have a brother”. When we first found that out I thought, “Oh cool, now he really does have a brother.” Then I kind of panicked and began to wonder if there was a sibling we didn’t know about. But later an ET friend explained that sometimes a father, if he never had a brother, will name his son that.
Of all the pictures we have of Beza only one or two have a smile. This girl is a shy one. Her name means “redemption” which I just think is awesome.
So the two of them together. Beza looks a little scared. Makes me want to run and scoop them up into my arms.
My brother said they look like they’re at the airport waiting for someone to claim them with their names on the board 🙂
I’ll take them.
