The other day I was looking through old photographs and stumbled up on these…
They were taken by another adoptive family a few days after the kids left Grandma and entered our agencies “transition home”. We actually got the photographs while we were in Ethiopia doing mission work before we got the kids.
A part of me was overjoyed to get an update and see them in the transition home. But the pictures broke my heart. They looked so sad and broken hearted.
Now, 18 months later, when I look at them I am stunned.
Stunned at the transformation that has taken place.
I’m not talking just about their physical growth even though that has been dramatic. Luke has put on 10 lbs and grown several inches. Beza has done the same.
But they glow now. They are happy, enthusiastic, life-loving children.
Truly evidence that love heals and nurtures in amazing ways. Not just our love, but the love of the Father as well.
