So we are 9.5 months into the 12-month no-shopping challenge. It actually seems like it’s gone by fast and relatively easy. I’ve learned not to even wander the clothing section of Target or Walmart and I stopped looking at magazines like InStyle, etc that just make me want a certain outfit or look. Flee from temptation right?
Well it’s not completely avoidable of course. Saturday I was at the boys Junior Bible Quiz meet and I saw this mom in a super cute outfit – black leggings, long grey top, black boots, long necklace and some sort of jacket. It was pretty awesome. I had the leggings and the boots but no long, flowy shirts. Oh well.
The night before we had friends over for dinner and one of the ladies brought me a big tub of hand me down clothes. The same friend who made this little miracle happen. It was late when they left so I didn’t even look that closely at the clothes.
Saturday night, after the quiz meet, I finally had a chance to go through the pile. I tried on pants (2 fit!), sorted some summer tops to save for a couple months.
But wait! What was this?
A long, flowy grey top!
SERIOUSLY!
Sunday morning I totally rocked that outfit!
I’m sure Violet had no idea when she gave me that tub of clothes that God would use her to send me a little extra blessing. Thanks Vi!
