Over the years, I’ve written on several topics. You can find some of my work and resources below.
Adoption
In 2008, we adopted two siblings from Ethiopia. Through that journey, I became passionate about overcoming financial barriers to adoption. In 2011, I self-published my first book, republished in 2015 as “You Can Adopt Without Debt: Creative Ways to Cover the Cost of Adoption.” You can learn more about the book here, or read past blog posts on affording adoption here.
Depression
My first clinical depression diagnosis was in 2003, and it continues to affect my life today. You can read more about my story and thoughts on depression here.

Gallup Clifton Strengths
In 2015, a workplace StrengthsFinder workshop changed my life. Learning about my strengths — especially Maximizer and Discipline — provided me with profound insights into behaviors that had caused friction in my marriage, parenting, and leadership. Those discoveries created lasting change that continues to benefit all my relationships.
In 2025, I became a Gallup Certified Clifton Strengths Coach, enabling me to help others achieve the same transformation. You can learn more about my coaching practice here.
