Help Project HOPEFUL win a new Toyota!

06.11.2011 by juliegumm@yahoo.com //

I’ve been bugging people for a week now to vote for my blog.

But TODAY I want, no NEED, you to vote for one other thing.

Project HOPEFUL, an amazing organization we are involved with, is in the running for a new Toyota in the Toyota 100 Cars for Good program. Each day for 100 days Toyota is giving away a new Toyota Sienna to a non-profit organization (entries were narrowed down to the 100 earlier).

So today it is between Project HOPEFUL and 4 other organizations and I NEED you to vote. And then post it on your Facebook.

First, you’ll need a Facebook account to vote.

Go here and click VOTE TODAY.

Voting opens at 6 AM easter time and goes until midnight. You can only vote once per Facebook account, so I am encouraging hacking your spouses FB account if necessary.

Project HOPEFUL helps encourage, enable and equip families to adopt kids with HIV. They are working really hard to educate people on the TRUTH about HIV and the AIDS virus. One of the ways they do that is through educational workshops for parents considering adoption. Right now they do them in just a couple of states but the new van would help them be able to travel and take the workshops to more states.

Almost all of the families who attend these workshops end up adopting HIV+ children and giving them forever homes. I can’t think of a more worthy cause!

Featured family matched with baby boy

06.09.2011 by juliegumm@yahoo.com //

My favorite part about writing the book was “meeting” a bunch of really great families that either have, or are in the process of adopting.

One of those families, the Buonicontis, was matched with a baby boy just days ago in the most unexpected way!

You can go here to read about the story.

This amazing family is opening their hearts to an HIV+ child with additional special needs due to medical neglect. He’s going to need lots of care, special medical attention and occupational and physical therapy and he’s GOING TO GET IT!

Congratulations Buonicontis!!!
